The following stocks are sorted in descending order of greatest “yield.”

Please note some of these may have had “special” dividends or spinoff payments which will not repeat.

All dividends are calculated based on the “Ex-EFF Date.”

Here’s a “table of averages” for the 28 issues below; not definitive, but kind of interesting.


[1] Verizon Communications Inc [VZ]

VZ had total dividends of $2.6975 from 7/1/2024 to 6/30/2025. During that time frame it had a starting price of $41.74, a high price of $47.36, a low price of $37.59, and a 6/30/2025 price of $43.27. This means that it had a yield of 6.46%, or an average monthly yield of 0.54%. The peak-to-valley is -20.63%. The capital gains were 3.67%. The overall gain/loss (cap gains + yield) is 10.13%, or a gain/loss per month of 0.85%. The average volume since inception was 20,050,069.

[2] Chevron Corp [CVX]

CVX had total dividends of $6.6800 from 7/1/2024 to 6/30/2025. During that time frame it had a starting price of $156.52, a high price of $168.96, a low price of $132.04, and a 6/30/2025 price of $143.19. This means that it had a yield of 4.27%, or an average monthly yield of 0.36%. The peak-to-valley is -21.85%. The capital gains were -8.52%. The overall gain/loss (cap gains + yield) is -4.25%, or a gain/loss per month of -0.36%. The average volume since inception was 8,215,432.

[3] IBM Common Stock [IBM]

IBM had total dividends of $6.6900 from 7/1/2024 to 6/30/2025. During that time frame it had a starting price of $175.10, a high price of $296.16, a low price of $173.38, and a 6/30/2025 price of $294.78. This means that it had a yield of 3.82%, or an average monthly yield of 0.32%. The peak-to-valley is -41.46%. The capital gains were 68.35%. The overall gain/loss (cap gains + yield) is 72.17%, or a gain/loss per month of 6.04%. The average volume since inception was 4,209,150.
